Your number stays with you
Short version: the salary or net worth you type never leaves your device, and this site doesn't track you or use cookies.
What we never collect
- Your salary or net worth. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. The number isn't sent anywhere and isn't saved.
- Your identity. The site's own code never records who you are or your IP address. (See server logs below.)
- Names you type into "Someone else". They stay in your browser and aren't saved.
What we do collect
Nothing. This site doesn't use analytics or tracking of any kind, and sets no cookies.
Like every website, our web host (Namecheap) automatically keeps standard server logs, which include visitors' IP addresses and the pages requested. These are used only to keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to track or profile anyone.
Picking your currency
On your first visit, your browser asks a free lookup service (GeoJS) which country you're in, so we can show your local currency. Like any website you visit, that service sees your IP address. We only receive the country, use it once, and don't keep it. If you choose a currency yourself, that choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) and nowhere else.
Sharing
Share images are made in your browser. Shared links include who you compared, the donation amount, the currency and your result. They don't include your salary or net worth unless you tick "Include my salary or net worth". Anyone with the link can see what's in it.
The share buttons (X, Facebook, Bluesky and so on) are plain links. Nothing from those networks loads on this site, and they only see what you choose to post.
Tips
The "Buy us a coffee" link is a plain link to Ko-fi. Nothing from Ko-fi loads on this site. If you leave a tip, Ko-fi's own privacy policy applies there.
Ads and cookies
To cover running costs, this site shows a small number of ads from Google AdSense. Ad scripts don't load until you make a choice in the cookie banner.
- Personalised ads: Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your interests and to measure them.
- Basic ads only: ads aren't based on your interests. Some cookies may still be used to limit how often you see an ad and to prevent fraud.
You can change your choice at any time with the ad cookie settings link. Learn more about how Google uses cookies in advertising.
